"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

– Matthew 7:13-14

How to Get to Heaven

God is creating a perfect family—a beautiful, life-giving tree, a kingdom built on love and truth. This is Heaven. The only way to enter is to be perfect: holy, blameless, and without sin or fault from birth to this very moment. Nothing less can stand in the presence of a perfect God.

But how can we achieve such perfection?

We can’t!

Not by reading the Bible, attending church, serving others, or even dedicating our lives to ministry. These are good things, but they cannot make us perfect. Being a “good person” isn’t enough because it doesn’t address the deeper issue—the sinful nature within us, the part that rebels against God and leads us astray.

The only way to enter the kingdom of Heaven is to recognize our sinful nature, surrender fully to God, turn from the ways of this world, and follow Jesus. When we do, God gives us a new heart—one that longs to do good as He is good, to love as He loves, and to seek Him in all we do: reading His Word, serving others, giving generously, and sharing His truth.

How does this achieve perfection?

As long as we live on this side of Heaven, we will struggle with our old sinful nature. But our perfection does not come from what we do; it comes from Christ’s sacrifice and the presence of His Spirit within us. When we surrender to God, we are adopted into His family as His children. Though we may stumble and sin in this life, our sins have already been paid for by Jesus. When we stand before God, He sees us not through our failures but through the perfect sacrifice of His Son. Jesus’ righteousness covers us completely.

We are made perfect because we belong to Christ. He is the vine, and we are the branches—connected, nourished, and alive in Him. God sees this relationship as perfect because we have surrendered to Christ and given Him authority over our lives.

With the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, we begin to desire the things of God—holiness, love, truth, and righteousness. While the old sinful nature may still wrestle within us, God sees the heart that has been transformed by His Spirit. Our perfection flows not from who we are but from who Christ is in us.

To believe that going to church, reading the Bible, or simply being a good person can earn us a place in Heaven is futile. God looks beyond our actions to the motives of our hearts. Without the Holy Spirit, our deepest desires remain exposed before Him, and He sees the truth of our broken nature.

Any attempt to earn our way to Heaven on our own is not only impossible but a sin against God’s truth and grace. Such efforts are nothing more than empty religion—human striving that falls far short of the perfection God requires.

The only way to Heaven is through surrender. This allows Christ to transform your heart and make you part of His perfect masterpiece—His eternal family, full of love, truth, and life.
