Truly Saved
Introduction
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. ~ 1 John 5:13
It’s becoming increasingly common for people to view Christianity as just another choice—like picking a political party, becoming a Democrat or Republican, or adopting a particular lifestyle. But the truth is, Christianity is not the same.
Choosing a political affiliation, committing to a vegan diet, or pursuing a specific way of life typically involves careful consideration shaped by our age, desires, and goals. While becoming a Christian also involves a decision influenced by similar factors, the difference lies in what happens afterward. In Christianity, it’s not the choice itself that defines you as a Christian—it’s the transformation that follows.
Whatever draws you to Christianity, there comes a pivotal moment when you must choose to open the door to Christ. If your heart is sincere and you truly invite Him in, you will encounter Jesus spiritually. It’s His presence in your life that makes you a Christian—when He becomes an undeniable reality. For most, this transformation doesn’t happen instantly, as it did with Paul on the road to Damascus. Instead, it’s a journey marked by time, growth, struggles, and lessons that gradually reveal our need for Him.
In this section, I’ll share what I’ve learned about recognizing salvation and understanding what it truly means to open the door to Christ.
