The Real Reason
God created His church with a purpose—Christ is the head, and the church is His body. The church embodies the Spirit of Christ, shining God's light into the world.
Why Should We Go to Church?
God does not command us to attend a church; we are the church. Each of us is a living stone used to build His church. We must remember that we are the church at all times—whether we are asleep or awake, 24/7.
Why Should We Gather and Fellowship Together?
We gather to strengthen our walk, help each other stay focused on Christ, and support one another when we stumble, continuing the battle of faith. We protect one another from our enemies, including our flesh, Satan, and the dark forces that come against us.
We come together to share our spiritual gifts. Each of us has a unique gift, and when we combine these gifts, we form a powerful, unified body.
The life of a Christian often runs counter to the ways of the world. While the world moves in one direction, Christians move in the opposite, which can sometimes feel isolating. Coming together with fellow believers reminds us that we are not alone and encourages us to keep pressing on towards the finish line.
Going Out into the World
We go to church to be supported and built up so we can go out into the world and serve. In our jobs and daily lives, we are to live Christ-like and evangelize through our words and actions.
There has been a misunderstanding that serving within the church building is the primary way we fulfill our role as the body of Christ. However, that’s not the case. We are the church, and we are called to be a light everywhere we go, every moment of our lives. Does this mean we should never partner with others from our church community? Of course not. We can collaborate at work, during daily activities, and for specific service projects. But we must remember that the church is on call 24/7.
If I go play basketball with friends who don’t believe, and one of them is a fellow Christian, we can join forces to show Christ’s love and speak life into them. Even if I’m the only Christian there, I am still called to do the same.
