"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

– Jeremiah 29:11

The Beginnings
Our Plan and Purpose

When people cease striving in their own strength and allow God to find them, surrendering to His will, they come to understand that this world is merely a temporary state—a prison. Exhausted by the empty pursuits of this life, they begin to see through the illusion that lasting fulfillment can be found here. They also recognize God’s perfection and their own broken, sinful nature—the very condition that led to Jesus’ sacrifice. In this awakening, they realize they are orphaned, blind beggars in desperate need of their Father. To such hearts, God gives His Spirit, and they experience what the Bible calls being “Born Again.” These individuals become Christians, part of God’s living church—the branches that bear His fruit, revealing to the world that God is good.

The Purpose of Our Existence on Earth

God calls us on a pilgrimage—a journey through this earthly prison toward His eternal Kingdom. For those who follow Him, this journey is one of transformation, often referred to as sanctification. Even as Christians, we continue to wrestle with our old nature. Like branches on a vine, we must undergo pruning to grow.

This pruning is not a punishment but a divine process of refinement. As we immerse ourselves in God’s Word, walk by faith, and abide in His presence, He reveals the parts of our old nature that hinder spiritual growth. With care, He removes these remnants, making room for His Spirit to work more deeply within us. The fruit of this process—faith, love, and righteousness—brings both personal blessing and a witness to His glory. Through this journey, our lives become living testimonies of His transformative power. The fruit we bear stands as evidence to the world that God’s goodness is real and available to all who seek Him.

Walking in His Purpose

The Christian is called to seek God with all their heart, mind, and soul. In doing so, they learn to discern His still, small voice amidst the clamor of the world. This pursuit establishes God as the foundation of their lives and aligns them with His will. Through this intimate relationship, He reveals the path they are meant to walk—their purpose and direction.

In this process, every aspect of life—relationships, work, and location—becomes an opportunity to glorify Him. Whether through marriage, parenting, or singleness, God uses every circumstance to reflect His love to the world. Whether rich or poor, healthy or ill, their lives shine with His glory because the world no longer holds them captive.

Just as a branch exists to glorify the vine, Christians live dead to the world and alive to God. And what can the world do to someone who is already dead to it? Nothing. A life surrendered to God is secure, beyond the reach of worldly powers, and free in His eternal love.

The Ultimate Purpose

The ultimate purpose of our time on earth is to glorify God. Every blessing—our families, careers, resources, and possessions—is a gift from Him, meant to be used as tools to honor Him. Each moment is an opportunity to demonstrate our faith and reflect His glory.

When we falter, it is not a time for despair but a call to return to Him, trusting His guidance to help us grow. One day, we will stand before God, who will ask how we used the life He gave us. Did we chase selfish pleasures, or did we live to glorify Him, pointing others to the eternal hope found in Christ?

Salvation is the awakening to the truth that there is no life apart from God. It is the recognition of our sinful, broken hearts—the very hearts that necessitated Jesus' sacrifice. Just as a branch depends entirely on the vine for its life, we come to understand that all life flows from Him. How, then, could we not give Him all the glory?

"Those who believe in Jesus' name are given the right to become children of God. "
