Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!
The Christian Path
Many Christians are eager to answer the call to be soldiers for Christ. The mistake is thinking that this calling happens mainly inside the church walls. Serving on Sundays or going on mission trips may be part of it, but it is not the full picture of what God intended when He enlisted us (2 Timothy 2:3–4).
The church is our command post—where we are equipped, corrected, strengthened, and prepared for battle (Ephesians 4:12). But the real battle is fought in the world—in everyday life—among family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and in every activity we engage (John 17:15–18).
The mission is wherever our feet go. We live as light and salt right where God has placed us (Matthew 5:13–16).
We should train our hearts so that, wherever we are, we are ready to be God’s light and salt. Each situation tests whether we will be faithful or faithless (James 1:22–25).
We cannot separate daily responsibilities from our calling. Our life is meant to be lived for God in all things (Colossians 3:17; 1 Corinthians 10:31). If we think incorrectly, we will live incorrectly.
Our jobs and daily tasks are opportunities to fulfill our calling. Home, work, and play are all places to shine God’s light. Live so the world sees we belong to Him—in every part of life (Philippians 2:14–16).
When we step into the world to bear God’s fruit, our true condition is revealed—where we are strong, where we are struggling. These are opportunities for reflection, repentance, and growth (John 15:2,5). Yes, we stumble, but we ask for wisdom, strengthen what is weak, and keep going (James 1:5).
The church should guide and grow believers—led by those who walk this path and can help others do the same. We must be taught to let go of the world and cling to Christ, or we will not mature (Romans 12:2; Hebrews 6:1).
If we are truly enlisted in God’s army, our lives are not our own (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). Every moment and encounter is a divine assignment. We are not weekend warriors; we are full-time soldiers advancing the Kingdom of God (2 Timothy 2:3–4).
The church prepares us, but the mission field is everywhere our feet tread (Romans 10:14–15).
Let’s stop waiting for a perfect moment or place to live out our faith. Do not confine God’s work to a building or a trip. The world is desperate for light, and we carry that light (Matthew 5:14–16). Rise as true soldiers—faithful, alert, and engaged—fighting not with the weapons of this world, but with love, truth, and the power of the Spirit (2 Corinthians 10:3–5; Ephesians 6:10–18).
Live so the world sees whom we serve. And when we stand before Him, our lives will already have spoken: We lived for You, Lord.
“Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called.” ~ 1 Timothy 6:12
